Walmart Expanding InHome Delivery In Parts Of 5 States

Walmart InHome delivery

Walmart has expanded its InHome delivery service to an additional 10 million households in specific areas of five states – California, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Michigan and Philadelphia.

InHome delivers groceries and everyday items to customers’ doorsteps or unpacks them into their kitchens or garage refrigerators.

The areas the service is expanding to are:

“The expansion of InHome comes at the perfect time for families…who are embarking on the busy summer season and are looking for faster, more convenient ways to complete those everyday chores,” said Haley McShane, general manager of InHome, Walmart U.S.

“We understand that customers are busy and want to make sure that they can have a seamless shopping experience that fits their needs.”

Walmart launched InHome delivery in 2019. Employees are tenured, vetted and trained for the service. Here’s how it works:

  • Order: To place an order, customers shop online or through the app for items eligible for store delivery and select the InHome delivery window that’s most convenient.
  • Deliver: An InHome employee completes the delivery to the customer’s preferred location. If it’s inside the home, the employee will use a one-time access code to unlock the customer’s door or garage. A wearable camera is on the associates’ vest, recording the delivery, which customers have access to from their phones for up to a week.

InHome is available as an add-on to Walmart+ membership for $12.95 per month or $98 per year. Members can add unlimited fee-free and tip-free delivery for an extra $7 per month or $40 per year.

Walmart+ members have access to a suite of digital and in-store benefits such as unlimited free deliveries, fuel and travel discounts, as well as free pet telehealth visits through Pawp, promotions and events and Paramount+ streaming.
