Weis Markets Launches Annual Paws For Pets Program

Weis Markets’ 16th annual Paws for Pets program is underway. The program is a company-wide donation drive to support 128 local animal shelters and rescue organizations across the company’s footprint.

During the month-long program, which ends May 31, customers can round their orders up to the next dollar or give $1, $3 or $5 at self-checkout. They can also donate online at weismarkets.com/paws-pets.

“Our annual Paws for Pets program is one of our most beloved programs by both our customers and associates. Since the start of this program in 2009, it has generated more than $3.4 million in donations for local pet shelters over the past 16 years,” said Weis Markets VP of Marketing and Advertising Maria Rizzo. “Each store has an assigned shelter or rescue organization that will benefit from customer donations, which leaves shoppers feeling confident that their donation is making an impact on local organizations.”

Customers purchasing participating pet care items at Weis Markets from one of 20 vendor partners will be entered in drawings to win one of four $250 Weis gift cards each week throughout the month. Each drawing will generate an additional $250 gift card donation to a local animal shelter.

A Weis Markets corporate contribution, customer donations and matching donations from Rachael Ray Nutrish, Nestle Purina One, 9Lives, Blue Buffalo and Clorox generated through the program will support 128 animal shelters and rescue organizations in Weis Markets’ seven-state market area.
