According to recent CDC updates pending FDA approval and ACIP recommendations, all Americans will be eligible for a booster/additional doses of the COVID-19 vaccine beginning Sept. 20 and eight months after the completion of their initial vaccine series.
To encourage more residents to get the COVID-19 vaccine and ensure residents in long-term care facilities and ages 65 and older can take advantage of these changes, Kroger’s Atlanta Division, as part of Kroger Health, has a plan to administer these doses. Kroger’s Atlanta Division is also prepared for additional populations to become eligible for booster doses over time.
How it works
• Kroger’s Atlanta Division now is administering booster/additional doses of COVID-19 vaccines to immune compromised individuals per the FDA/ACIP guidance.
• Beginning Sept. 20, Kroger’s Atlanta Division will begin providing COVID-19 immunization services to long-term care facilities and eligible Americans. Eligible groups can schedule appointments at kroger.com/covidvaccine or by calling 1-866-211-5320 and completing a brief survey.
• In cities with high demand, Kroger’s Atlanta Division will also reinstate its “power hour,” focusing the first hour of the day exclusively to those in the eligible populations.
• Kroger’s Atlanta Division continues offering a full suite of products through its Covid Care brand including COVID-19 at-home testing, rapid antigen and rapid antibody testing.
Kroger’s Atlanta Division includes Georgia, Eastern Alabama and South Carolina.
