Pre is a grass-fed beef brand offering absolute transparency from pasture to package to plate. All of its beef is grass-fed and grass-finished from Australia and New Zealand, where nutrient-rich grasses grow year-round for cattle. Plus, they have some of the strictest standards. All Pre beef is cut, trimmed or ground in Chicago.

Pre beef is transported to the United States by shipping it on sea freight container ships through the Panama Canal to the port of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The total journey takes roughly five weeks from the time the ship leaves Australia and New Zealand until it docks in Philadelphia. Beef needs to age at least three weeks, held at the proper temperature, in order for the muscle fibers to break down and become tender, the company says. Through all of its studies and experiences, Pre has found that the ideal temperature to import beef is 28 degrees Fahrenheit. The company requires its suppliers to put temperature sensors in every one of its orders.
Once the product arrives at the Port of Philadelphia, Pre works with partners that have coolers that are 28 degrees. In addition, all of the trucking companies it uses are refrigerated to 28 degrees. Pre verifies these temperatures with every order it brings in from Australia and New Zealand and then to the plant in Chicagoland.

Pre is available nationally in retail and online.
