They say everything is bigger in Texas—so when Target announced plans for a $220-million, 28-store renovation project in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, the company said there would be no holding back. It’s the retailer’s largest remodel investment in a single market in 2017 and part of its plan to reimagine hundreds of stores across the country over the next three years.
Last week, eight North Texas stores completed their renovations and celebrated with grand reopening events.
“It’s so fun to see our guests’ reactions to our enhanced store as they discover all the new features,” said Brock Robinson, store team leader at SuperTarget in North Dallas. “With each corner they turn in the store, they find something new and you can see the excitement on their faces.”
Target said there also are behind-the-scenes enhancements that make the shopping experience more convenient for guests: updates to the retailer’s Order Pickup and Ship from Store services make it easier for guests ordering online, and additional self-checkout lanes with new grab-and-go food offerings at the front of stores make for a fast checkout.
Target opened its first North Texas store in 1969. Today, 6,700 team members work in the region.
