Busch’s Fresh Food Market recently opened a new location in Canton Township, Michigan, that has the company’s first in-store restaurant.

J.B.’s Smokehouse seats 170 people and serves St. Louis-style barbecue ribs, Texas-style beef brisket, North Carolina-style pulled pork, mac ‘n cheese, sweet potato coins and fried pickles, and has a full bar with 22 Michigan draft beers, MLive.com reports.

Located at 225 South Canton Center Road, the 54,000-s.f. store also features more than 200 locally sourced products, bulk foods, hot food and salad bars, fresh sushi, a Starbucks kiosk, gelateria and a hot Asian bowls stand.

The Ann Arbor-based grocer was started by Joe Busch and Charlie Mattis in 1975 when they acquired two stores in Clinton and Saline from Vescio’s Foods and named them J&C Family Foods.

When Busch retired in 1986, sons Doug, John and Tim took over and acquired or built the company’s now 17 stores. The company remains privately held and employs about 1,400 people.
