McCormick & Co. Buys Packaged Herbs Company Of Australia, And More…

McCormick & Co. has purchased Botanical Food Co., a privately held business based in Australia that manufactures and sells the Gourmet Garden brand of packaged herbs. Lawrence Kurzius, McCormick president and CEO, notes that Gourmet Garden exports its products to 15 countries with the largest market being the U.S. “We anticipate strong growth for these products, particularly in the U.S. and key international markets where consumers appreciate the value and accessibility of cooking with a more convenient flavoring alternative. The Gourmet Garden brand offers a more convenient alternative to consumers who currently buy fresh herbs.”…

Whole Foods Market recently opened the doors of its community market in Bedford, New Hampshire. The location is the second Whole Foods in the Granite State. The 43,000-s.f. store employs approximately 155 full- and part-time team members, including 107 new hires from within the community. The store is built on the historic site of the former Wayfarer Inn; Whole Foods says it committed to celebrating the site’s rich history by preserving wood from the inn and repurposing it in the store’s décor…

Asian grocery chain H Mart, which operates 52 stores across the nation, has expanded its partnership with Instacart in the Washington, D.C., suburbs and Philadelphia area. Customers can have products delivered to their doorsteps in less than an hour.
