Gov. Baker Touts Foodservice Trade During NEFS Keynote

Last updated on June 13th, 2024 at 05:08 pm

Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker stopped by the New England Food Show (NEFS) on Monday at the Boston Convention Center and praised the foodservice industry for its creativity, diversity and flexibility to adapt to many challenges. Long-term friend Joe Piantedosi Jr. of Piantedosi Baking Co. personally invited Baker to the show.

Baker was called a friend of the foodservice industry. Baker notes he is proud of the industry and said, “You should know how important to me you are. There are great entrepreneurs in the food business.”

In a 20-minute address, Baker outlined steps he is taking to help small business, including streamlining regulations; pursing strategies to improve downtown economies; giving more power to community leaders to assign liquor licenses; securing grants for more vocational technical schools; and working with the other New England governors on a future multi energy program.
