Wegmans Begins Installing Hearing Loops To Aid Customers, And More…

Wegmans Food Markets has begun to install induction hearing loop stations in its stores at pharmacy counters, customer service desks and designated checkout lanes. Sixteen Wegmans stores currently have these hearing assistance systems—at least one store in each of the six states where Wegmans operates. More will be added in 2016, working toward a goal of having hearing loop systems in all Wegmans stores by the end of the year…

Humane Farm Animal Care (HFAC), an international nonprofit certification organization, has awarded Lancaster Fine Foods of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, with Certified Humane certification for Sir Kensington’s Mayonnaise. HFAC’s Certified Humane label certifies that any products with meat, poultry, egg or dairy are produced according to HFAC’s Animal Care Standards for humane farm animal care. These standards, written by farm animal welfare scientists, requires farm animals be raised where they can express their natural behaviors, move around freely and outside of cages, and eat diets free of antibiotics, growth hormones and animal by-products…

Dollar Tree says that Howard Levine has completed his role in the integration of Family Dollar and Dollar Tree and is stepping down as an officer of the company, effective Jan. 15. On July 6, 2015, Dollar Tree completed its acquisition of more than 8,200 Family Dollar stores across 46 states. The company had previously announced that Levine would remain with the company for a period of time to assist with the integration, reporting to, and supporting, Dollar Tree CEO Bob Sasser. Gary Philbin, who was named Family Dollar’s president and COO in July, will continue leading Family Dollar and will continue reporting to Sasser. Levine is the son of Family Dollar founder Leon Levine.
