Mr. Tracy Wolpert, VP of operations for Southern California’s Bristol Farms, died in Long Beach last month. Additional details about his passing and funeral arrangements were unavailable at the time of this report.

“While he was only with us for a short period of time, he had a big impact on our Bristol Farms family,” a statement from Bristol Farms reads. “…He was one of the most customer- and employee-centric executives in the industry. Tracy had a holistic mission and approach, which tied together employees’ and the customers’ love of food into an unusual and fulfilling store experience.

“We miss Tracy deeply, but we thank and appreciate him for his vision and positive impact to us and to the industry,” the statement adds.

Mr. Wolpert previously was CEO of PCC Natural Markets in Seattle, Washington. He joined that company in 2000 as COO and took on the chief executive’s role in 2001 before departing the company in mid-2014. Prior to PCC, Mr. Wolpert worked in operations at Vons in California and also served as VP and GM for Big Bear Supermarkets in Ohio.
