PepsiCo Launches Better-For-You Vending Program, And More…

PepsiCo has launched a new, state-of-the-art food and beverage vending initiative called Hello Goodness. The vending unit offers good- and better-for-you product choices from PepsiCo. The company will place several thousand units throughout the U.S. in 2016 in a variety of locations, including select healthcare, recreational, transportation, governmental, workplace and educational facilities. The Hello Goodness vending machine, which also will be available in a beverage-only version, features a “thoughtfully chosen selection” of PepsiCo products like Naked Juice, Smartfood Delight popcorn, Lay’s Oven Baked potato chips, Quaker Real Medleys bars, Pure Leaf iced tea, Propel Electrolyte Water, Tropicana Pure Premium and Sabra Ready-to-Eat Hummus cups, the company says. The Hello Goodness vending machine also features a digital POS touch screen with product nutritional information; suggests food and beverage pairing ideas for different eating occasions throughout the day; contains dual climate-control shelving, allowing both perishable and non-perishable items to be easily vended together at the correct temperature; and allows for cashless and digital vending…

For more than a century, Imperial Tobacco has been known by the products it produces. But one of the world’s largest cigarette makers has plans to jettison “tobacco” from its name. Chevron U.S.A. Inc. says that its 2015 Fuel Your School program generated more than $8.8 million to help fund 10,126 classroom projects, including 4,351 focused on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). The program, a collaboration with DonorsChoose.org to support public education in 21 U.S. communities, helped provide teachers at 3,805 public schools with much-needed resources for their classrooms. Through the program, $1 was contributed when consumers purchased eight or more gallons of fuel during October at participating Chevron and Texaco stations in 21 select markets, up to each market’s cap.
