Some Ricker C-Stores Serve As Domestic Violence Safe Havens, And More…

At some Ricker convenience stores in Indiana, the market serves as safe havens for domestic violence victims in need of help. If someone feels they’re in danger from domestic violence, they can go to one of six Ricker’s convenience store locations, where employees are trained to call either 9-1-1 or the victim advocacy group Alternatives Inc. Six Ricker’s stores in Hamilton County, north of Indianapolis, have joined the Safe Haven initiative, where identifying stickers on store windows show victims of domestic violence that they can go to the convenience store for help…

7-Eleven Inc. and its subsidiary, SEI Fuel Services Inc., has acquired 101 gasoline locations in Florida from Biscayne Petroleum and Everglades Petroleum. The acquisition consists of 94 controlled real estate locations, seven fuel-supply-only contracts and some related assets. The gasoline stations will continue to sell Mobil-branded fuel, and a number of these outlets currently are being considered for rebranding as 7-Eleven convenience stores…

Mars Chocolate North America has launched “Great Moments In Chocolate History,” a book created in partnership with the National Geographic Society.  “Great Moments In Chocolate History” is the first book in a two-book agreement between Mars and National Geographic and is authored by Howard-Yana Shapiro, chief agricultural officer for Mars Inc.
