Walgreens Signs Pact To Buy Rite Aid, And More…

Two of the nation’s largest drugstore chains have agreed to combine operations. Walgreens Boots Alliance announced Oct. 27 that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire all the outstanding shares of Rite Aid in a deal valued at $17.2 billion. Walgreens has more than 13,100 stores in 11 countries; Rite Aid has nearly 4,600 stores in 31 states and annual revenues of $26.5 billion…

Walmart has applied to the Federal Aviation Administration for permission to test drones for home delivery, curbside pickup and checking warehouse inventories…

Walmart plans to transition to wood-grain reusable plastic containers for transporting and merchandising produce in all U.S. stores.
