Fourth Wegmans Bay State Store To Open Sunday, And More…

The fourth Wegmans store in Massachusetts, at 169 University Avenue (near I-95) in Westwood, is opening its doors to the public at 7 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 11. The 122,000-s.f. store is staffed by 550 employees and has an offering of 70,000 products. Much of the store is built with an open-market feel and includes a Market Cafe with indoor and outdoor seating for nearly 300 people. Within the store is a Wegmans Wine & Beer Shop, which has more than 700 varieties of domestic and imported beer. A&P continues the auction this week of 82 stores after concluding the sale of 95 stores to Stop & Shop, Acme Markets and Key Foods. Other food companies interested in the auction to date include C&S Wholesale Grocers, Wakefern, Key Foods, Best Yet Market, Food Partners, Gristedes, H Mart, King Kullen, Met Foods, Morton William, Food Bazaar and Shang Hai Enterprises.
