During National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, all Doris Italian Market & Bakery locations throughout South Florida are going pink, with cookies, to raise funds for the American Cancer Society—Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

During the month of October, Doris’ large homemade black and white cookies in the bakery will be decorated in pink and white to raise awareness of breast cancer. For each cookie sold during October, $1 will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

Doris Italian Market & Bakery has raised thousands of dollars for the American Cancer Society over the years from cookie sales to Wine & Food Galas to participation in annual walks like the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Mizner Park in Boca Raton.

“The American Cancer Society is one of the nonprofits that we are committed to,” said John Alfano, president and CEO of Doris Italian Market & Bakery. “We came up with the idea of the pink and white cookies last year to promote National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and it was so well received, we wanted to participate again this year. We believe it’s about giving back to the communities where we live and do business.”

Doris has stores in Coral Springs, Sunrise, Hollywood, Pembroke Pines and Boca Raton and a location opening soon in North Palm Beach.
