BrewFest Highlights NYACS/ESEA Fall Conference, And More…

Members of the New York Association of Convenience Stores (NYACS) and the Empire State Energy Association (ESEA) sampled 36 craft beers from 24 brewers in mid-September as part of the “Food & Fuel Fall Conference” in Saratoga Springs, New York. The BrewFest event was organized by NYACS board member Andrea Baker of Taylor’s Mini Marts in Cooperstown, New York. NYACS and ESEA members were invited to attend at no charge. Earlier in the day, Vincent Bradley, the newly appointed chairman of the State Liquor Authority, addressed conference attendees. A presentation on the “Play at the Pump” lottery concept followed, and attendees were briefed on the timetable and impacts of Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s fast-food minimum wage initiative…

A goal of 100 VERC Enterprises team members has been set to participate in the Strides Against Breast Walk set for Oct. 4 at the Hatch Shell. The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk is an event to honor breast cancer survivors, increase awareness about the disease and raise money to help the American Cancer Society fight the disease through research, information and services…

Proposed government regulations with serious impacts on the bottom line of Pennsylvania petroleum marketers will be discussed at the Fall Energy Conference and Annual Meeting in Bedford Springs, Pennsylvania, beginning Sept. 28.
