A new food store format selling ready-to-prepare recipe kits has opened in Brookline, Massachusetts. Pantry, which opened this summer in Brookline’s Washington Square, offers at least 20 recipes inspired by the cuisines of every continent. Each recipe kit is pre-portioned and locally sourced when possible; recipe cards and videos are provided as well. All recipes can be prepared with basic kitchen tools in 20-45 minutes. Recipes can be purchased for two, four or more diners. Pantry also sells sommelier-paired wine and beer as well as kitchen essentials and delivery services.

Available meal kits include Provençal Tomato Soup with White Fish, Shepherd’s Pie with Quinoa Crust, and Sweet Potato Flautas with Radish and Jicama Salad.

Founders Dennis Lasko and Amanda Mayo, who is chief gastronomic officer, said they have created a shopping experience that alleviates all of the frustrations of supermarket shopping. They said the Pantry provides the right amount of ingredients per recipe and cuts out wasted produce. Delivery service is available.

Company spokesperson Chris Haynes said, “Pantry puts the fun back into cooking by taking the stress and hassle out of planning and shopping. Each dish comes with every ingredient you’ll need to prepare a delicious, healthy meal at home.”
