Massachusetts Retail Liquor License Limit Increases By Two, And More…

According to the Massachusetts Food Association (MFA), on Jan. 1, 2016, the Massachusetts limit on the number of liquor licenses an entity can hold increases from the current limit of five stores to seven stores. Big Y Foods’ first-ever “May is Pet Month” initiative resulted in donations of more than 50,000 pounds of pet food and supplies to more than 50 different local animal shelters. Acme and Shaw’s have notified customers that Niagra Bottling has issued a voluntary recall of certain bottled water products, including Natural Spring Water sold under the Acme or Shaw’s brand names. The recall comes after it was found that one of Niagra’s spring sources is contaminated with E. coli, which was found in the water supply June 10. The recalled products have best by dates of Dec. 8 through Dec. 16.
