Alarm It Protects ATMs from Internal Theft

Last updated on June 13th, 2024 at 12:09 pm

To help ATM owners and operators protect their investment and the cash in their ATMs, Matthews, N.C.-based Alarm It Security Solutions has developed the MT3000 ATM security system.

The only product on the market that protects against internal theft, the MT3000 is an anti-tamper, anti-abuse security system that offers protection against unauthorized intrusion from thieves. The unique alarm system logs every entry—authorized or not—into the ATM allowing the operator to track employee access to the ATM.

“We noticed that most ATM break-ins were inside jobs, and could have been stopped if the outside doors would have been armed,” said Tony Morales, VP of product development for Alarm It. “We could not find a product on the market that would protect the outside doors as a standard feature, so we designed one from scratch.”

When the top or bottom vault doors are opened or if the ATM is tilted, the MT3000 will activate a siren for five to 30 minutes, depending on how the alarm is set. The ATM owner is then notified via a text message, e-mail and through Alarm It’s Web portal that the alarm has been triggered.

“Unlike other products on the market, the ATM owner is in control of when and if the siren should activate, and how long it will stay activated,” said Morales.

The MT3000, available in a TCP/IP or dial-up version, is equipped with a panic button to protect consumers using the ATM and a long-lasting battery backup to ensure continual protection in the event of a power outage. The system will also alert you when the battery needs to be replaced or when there is a power outage.

Installation is easy and takes just five minutes for a basic vault door; a few minutes more for a complete installation. The cost for 24 hours a day, seven days a week protection is $395. The accompanying AMS self-monitoring system is just $24 a year. www.alarmitinc.com.
